Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I am aware, this is a first for the industry. I refer to the tie-up between tanker manufacturer GRW Engineering and truck supplier Navistar International Trucks whereby, apart from its own operations, GRW operates a fully fledged dealership for International out of its premises in the Western Cape.

SAs first TimeTwin application

GRW Engineering, now South Africa’s leading road tanker manufacturer, has become the first manufacturer in the country to install a Fronius TimeTwin automatic welding system. The system, coupled to the existing Motoman robot and a new laser seam tracker, enables the welding speed on the tanker’s seams to be increased by over 75%.

Navistar International opens new dealership in Cape Town

Navistar International Trucks Southern Africa (NITSA) has opened its new International Trucks (ITCT) dealership for the Western Cape region. The dealership is situated at 28 Karee Street, Kraaifontein, Cape Town and forms part of the GRW Holdings Group, which has been involved in the transport business for many years.
